Background

Richard has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry across a wide range of civil and structural engineering projects. He has a comprehensive command of engineering principles, developed working in buildings, both residential and industrial, and infrastructure, including specialist skills working across the bridges, rail, defence, coastal marine works, and asset management sectors.

Richard has provided expert engineering advice to the insurance industry for a wide range of claims for perils including structural issues during construction works, escape of water, storm damage, and vehicle Impacts. Richard also has experience investigating the cause of domestic and industrial fires and product and personal injury claims.

As a consulting engineer, Richard has designed, managed, and supervised processes for the construction of new buildings and commercial infrastructure. Richard has also been responsible for leading and undertaking the assessment and alteration of existing structures. Richard has worked in challenging environments to deliver projects access a wide range of sectors, developing specialist experience of working in coastal marine, railway, and post fire environments.
