BACKGROUND:

Mr. Jonathan Higgins graduated from the University of Arizona with a B.S. in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering. He is a licensed professional engineer in Colorado, Arizona, and Virginia.

Mr. Higgins has extensive experience in all phases of planning, design, and construction for a diverse list of project types including design/build, fast-track construction, and government projects. He has been a project manager for the design and construction management of semiconductor manufacturing facilities, multi-story office buildings, industrial, residential, and nuclear facilities. As well, he is trained in construction safety and quality control programs and is highly skilled in project scope, schedule, and budget management techniques.

Mr. Higgins has over 17 years of experience with Rimkus conducting forensic analysis of various building system and material failures. He has extensive experience with a variety of building envelope system installations and failures including all types of roofing systems, exterior wall cladding systems, foundation systems, and rare project experience with sensitive compartmented information facilities.

Mr. Higgins has evaluated origin and cause of a variety of structural failures including primary building structures, foundations, scaffolds, cranes, and other construction equipment. He has reviewed and facilitated resolution of a myriad of construction claims and disputes between contractors, owners, and designers. In addition, he has evaluated countless construction defect, design error or omissions, and general construction issues. An expert by experience and training, he has investigated numerous premises liability, slip/trip and falls, and construction accidents involving equipment, fall protection, personal protective equipment, and other types of construction and safety equipment.
