Toxicology and Food Safety

Toxicologists study the safety and biological effects of drugs, chemicals, and other substances on living organisms. They help develop methods to determine harmful effects, the dosages that cause those effects, and safe exposure limits.

Toxicology is the scientific study of adverse effects that may result from exposure to chemical, biological, or other agents that may be present in consumer and industrial products, in the workplace, or in the environment. Toxicology involves characterizing and quantifying the association between exposure to a substance and the magnitude of effects on human health and/or the environment. The need for scientifically robust assessments of toxicological information arises in numerous contexts relevant to our clients.
