Patrick T. Drury, P.E.

Background

Mr. Patrick Drury holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Hawaii and multiple other states. He has over 15 years of experience in engineering design, construction, facility operations, and forensic investigations. His expertise includes construction defect analysis, building envelope failures, moisture intrusion, storm damage evaluations, drainage and sitework assessments, and structural failure analysis. Mr. Drury has provided deposition testimony in support of his technical findings. He provides expert consultation to insurance professionals, design professionals, construction firms, attorneys, and property owners.

Mr. Drury’s civil, structural, and construction engineering background includes expeditionary engineering in austere locations and the management of large-scale, multi-discipline design programs for military, commercial, residential, and public-sector projects. He is experienced in construction administration, contract management, and forensic analysis of construction means and methods, overseeing the design and development of heavy civil, commercial, industrial, educational, and residential structures in Hawaii, the Pacific region, and the continental United States. Mr. Drury’s experience has encompassed projects with extensive building material types along with various construction means and methods common to applications both domestic and abroad.

Mr. Drury’s work in forensic engineering includes the inspection and analysis of failures in civil/structural engineering in residential, commercial, civil, industrial, and institutional buildings, structures, and land development projects. He has evaluated alleged design/construction defects, performed premises liability evaluations, conducted property condition assessments, performed seismic risk assessments, and determined estimated costs of repairs. Representative investigations include roof evaluations, surface/stormwater evaluations, land development project evaluations, structural and roof system failures, building settlement, building collapse, moisture intrusions, wood rot and deterioration, wood-destroying insect damage, building envelope and cladding system deficiencies and failures, construction defects, and building code compliance.
